Nina, your AI UGC video agent

Short, natural-looking videos are where most consumer brands get their reach on TikTok, Reels and in ads, and the first two seconds decide everything. Nina is Toby’s AI UGC video agent: she writes the scripts, three hooks per idea, the shot list and the captions, in 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9. Film them yourself or with a creator, or, if you connect your own HeyGen account, Nina can render AI UGC videos from the script once you approve each one.

UGC video scriptExample

A UGC script with three hooks and a shot list

Product: Maison Sable winter candle. Format: 9:16, 25 seconds, captions on. For a creator or the founder. Hook A (0–2 s): “I stopped buying candles that smell like nothing after 20 minutes.” Hook B (0–2 s): Close-up of a match lighting the wick. Text: “The 4-hour test.” Hook C (0–2 s): “This is what 60 hours of burn time looks like.” (holding the candle up) Body (2–20 s): “It’s soy wax, so it burns slower and cleaner. The scent fills the living room in about ten minutes, and it’s still there at the end of the evening. And the glass becomes a plant pot when it’s finished.” Call to action (20–25 s): “Winter box, link below.” Shot list: 1. Hook shot (3 versions). 2. Candle lit in a living room: wide shot, evening light. 3. Close-up of the wax pool after a few hours. 4. Empty glass reused as a plant pot. 5. Box on a table, product name readable.
Example for Maison Sable, Toby’s fictional candle brand. Claims like “60 hours” must match your real product.
Review-based scriptExample

Reviews turned into an ad script

Objection: “Expensive for a candle.” Best quote: “Lasted me the whole of January, one evening after another.” (customer review) Objection: “Will I even smell it?” Best quote: “The whole apartment smells of pine, not just the room it’s in.” (customer review) Script, 1:1, 15 seconds: On screen, review card 1, with star rating and “Customer review”. Voice: “Our customers say it better than we do.” On screen, review card 2. End card: “Winter Pine. 60 hours of burn time.”
Illustrative example: in practice the quotes come from your real reviews, displayed as reviews, never voiced by a fake customer.

An AI video render, waiting for approval

Action: generate an AI avatar video from “Winter box, presenter version”. Avatar: a presenter from your HeyGen library, introduced as the brand’s presenter, not as a customer. Voice: warm female voice, English. Format: 1080 × 1920 (9:16), about 25 seconds. Mode: test render first (free, watermarked), then the final render after your second approval. Caption to publish with it: “Our winter box, explained in 25 seconds. Video made with an AI avatar.”
Example approval card. Nothing is rendered, and no credit is used, until you click approve.

The playbooks

  1. 1

    Hook test

Same body, three different hooks, and the ad results decide. The hook is the variable that changes performance most, so it is the one worth testing first.

  2. 2

UGC-style short videos for TikTok, Reels and ads

From Toby’s library of proven plays: for a visual or consumer product, or one with a clear before and after, when you have no short video yet. Deliverable: three scripts with different hooks plus a shot list, and an AI video when HeyGen is connected.

  3. 3

    Reviews into citable content

When thousands of reviews or customer stories sit unused: the ten best quotes by objection, where to place each one, and three ad or UGC scripts built on them.

  4. 4

    Captions on, label when needed

Most people watch without sound, so on-screen text carries the message. AI-generated videos are labeled where platforms require it, and avatars never pretend to be real customers.

How approval works

  • Scripts are drafts in Content. You decide who films them, or whether to render them with AI.

  • Every HeyGen render is a “To approve” card showing the avatar, voice, format and text, because it uses your HeyGen credits. Autopilot never renders videos on its own.

  • Nina never uploads videos to TikTok, Instagram or your ad accounts, and never spends ad budget. You publish and launch ads yourself.

  • AI avatars are presented as presenters, never as customers. Videos made with AI carry a label where the platform requires it.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI UGC video?

UGC means user-generated content: short videos that look like a person talking to their phone rather than a polished ad. An AI UGC video uses an AI avatar and voice to deliver the script. Nina writes the script either way; with HeyGen connected, she can also prepare the AI render.

Can I use AI avatars as customer testimonials?

No. An AI avatar saying “I’ve used this for three months” would be a fake testimonial, which consumer protection rules and platform policies forbid. Nina writes avatar scripts as a brand presenter speaking. Real testimonials come from real customers, filmed by them or quoted from their reviews.

Do I need a HeyGen account?

Only if you want AI-rendered videos. You connect your own HeyGen API key, which requires a HeyGen plan with API access, and renders use your HeyGen credits. Test renders are free but watermarked. Without HeyGen, Nina still writes complete scripts and shot lists for you or a creator to film.

Do AI videos have to be labeled?

Several platforms, including TikTok and Meta, ask creators to label realistic AI-generated content, and rules keep evolving. Nina adds an AI mention in the caption and reminds you to switch on the platform’s own AI label when you publish. Check each platform’s current policy.

Does Nina launch the video ads?

No. Toby never launches or edits ad campaigns by itself, and the Meta Ads and TikTok Ads connections wait for the platforms’ app review. Nina prepares the creatives and the hooks to test; Mia, the Meta Ads agent, can prepare the campaign plan for you to set up.

Which formats does Nina write for?

9:16 for TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Stories, 1:1 for feeds and many ad placements, and 16:9 for YouTube and your website. A script can come in several cuts, with the timing adapted to each.
