A Search Console AI assistant that turns your data into SEO fixes

Connect Search Console with a read-only Google service account. Every 6 hours, Toby reads your clicks, impressions, click rates and positions, spots the pages with the most to gain, and Leo, the SEO agent, prepares the fix: the new title, the refreshed section, the internal links.

What you get, concretely

Examples on fictional businesses, in the app's exact format. Numbers are examples, not promises: yours come from your own data.

SEO & GEO

Example

Push /learn-italian-in-3-months from position 11 to the top 5

Why: This page gets 4,800 Google impressions a month at position 11.2 with a 0.9% click rate (Search Console, last 30 days). Pages ranking 8–15 are the fastest SEO wins: refreshed content and internal links usually move them several places.

Example estimate: about +240 clicks a month

First deliverable, ready to paste

Refresh plan:
1. New H1: Learn Italian in 3 months: a realistic week-by-week plan
2. Add a 12-week table (hours per week, what you can say at the end of each month)
3. Add “Is 3 months enough for a trip to Italy?” with a straight answer
4. FAQ: 3 questions people ask on this topic
5. Internal links from /italian-for-beginners and /pricing with the anchor “3-month plan”

SEO & GEO

Example

Rewrite the title and description of /italian-for-travel

Why: 6,200 impressions at position 4.3 but only 1.1% of people click (Search Console). A sharper title and meta description typically lifts clicks by 20–40%.

Example estimate: +60 to 110 clicks a month at the same position

First deliverable, ready to paste

Title (58 characters): Italian for travel: the 150 phrases you'll actually use
Meta description (148 characters): Order food, ask for directions, chat with locals. 150 phrases with audio, grouped by situation, plus a free 20-minute lesson with a native teacher.

Leo · SEO & GEOEffort: Low

Data analyst

Example

Investigate the 27% drop in organic clicks

Why: Organic clicks fell from 3,120 to 2,280 over the last 7 days (−27% vs the week before). Drops above 20% usually have one clear cause: a tracking issue, a page that broke, a campaign that stopped or a Google update.

Example estimate: recover about 840 clicks a week

First deliverable, ready to paste

Checks, in this order:
1. Search Console → Pages: did indexed pages drop since the 14th?
2. Your 5 top pages from last month: do they still load, with the same URL?
3. Was the site migrated, or robots.txt or noindex tags changed?
4. Is the drop on every page (likely a Google update) or on a few (likely a page issue)?

The follow-up, 7 days after “done”

Rewrite the title and description of /italian-for-travel It worked: organic clicks +12% over 7 days (3,494 vs 3,120). Next: the same rewrite on /italian-for-business, which has the same profile (position 5, 0.8% click rate).
Example for a fictional online Italian school. The follow-up compares site-wide organic clicks, week over week.

Connect Google Search Console

About 10 minutes

A Google Cloud service account key (a JSON file) and the address of your Search Console property.

  1. 1

On console.cloud.google.com, create a project and enable the Google Search Console API (enable the Google Analytics Data API too if you will connect GA4).

  2. 2

In IAM & Admin → Service accounts, create a service account, then Keys → Add key → JSON. A file downloads.

  3. 3

In Search Console → Settings → Users and permissions, add the service account's email (ending in iam.gserviceaccount.com) with Restricted access.

  4. 4

In Toby, open Integrations, then Search Console → Connect. Paste the JSON file's content and your property (sc-domain:yoursite.com or https://www.yoursite.com/).

  5. 5

The first sync starts right away, then runs every 6 hours.

Good to know

  • Read-only. Toby reads performance data; it cannot submit sitemaps, request indexing or change settings in Search Console.

  • Last 30 days, top results. The sync keeps the top 250 pages and 500 query-and-page pairs. Small pages with little traffic may not appear.

  • Search Console data lags. Google usually shows figures with a delay of about two days, so the most recent days look lower until they are complete.

  • Fixes are applied where your site lives. With WordPress connected, Leo can update a post after your approval; with Webflow, he creates new drafts; otherwise you paste the changes yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Why a service account rather than “Sign in with Google”?

A service account lets you give Toby read-only access to one property, without app review and without sharing your own Google login. You can remove its access at any time in Search Console's users and permissions.

Can Toby change anything in Search Console?

No. The connection uses the read-only Search Console scope and the service account only needs Restricted access. Toby reads clicks, impressions, click rates and positions.

What does Toby do with the data?

It looks for two patterns that pay off fast: pages ranking 8 to 15 with real impressions, and pages in the top 8 that few people click. Each becomes a recommendation with the deliverable ready. It also watches for drops in organic clicks.

Do I need Google Analytics as well?

Not for the SEO work. Search Console shows what happens on Google; GA4 shows what visitors do once on your site. With both, Iris can tell whether an SEO page also brings sign-ups or sales.

Does it help with AI search, like ChatGPT or AI Overviews?

Search Console covers Google search. For AI answers, Toby's growth audit tests three buyer questions in an AI assistant, and Leo works on GEO in his recommendations: clear answers, FAQs and facts that can be quoted.

How long before I see recommendations?

The first sync runs as soon as you connect. Recommendations are prepared each morning from the latest signals, so the first Search Console ideas usually arrive the next day.
