An AI marketing team that works in your Notion

Your roadmap, customer interviews and launch notes already live in Notion. Share those pages with Toby and the team reads them before recommending anything, then writes its plans and reports back into your workspace, so the people who don't open Toby still see them.

What Toby does with Notion

Exactly what the connector does today. Reads happen right away; anything that changes, publishes or sends something waits for your approval.

The agents who use it

What you get, concretely

Examples on fictional businesses, in the app's exact format. Numbers are examples, not promises: yours come from your own data.

CMO

Example

Use the words from your customer interviews in the homepage headline

Why: Notion, "Customer interviews" page: 7 of the 9 interviews mention "chasing people for updates". Your homepage headline talks about "project visibility", a phrase no customer used.

Example estimate: +10–25% homepage-to-trial conversion, to be confirmed by an A/B test

First deliverable, ready to paste

Headline options, built from interview quotes:
1. Stop chasing people for updates.
2. Every project update, without the Monday follow-up emails.
3. Know where every project stands, without asking.
Subheadline: Trellis collects updates from your team automatically and shows you what's late before the client asks.
Source quotes: "I spend my Mondays chasing people for updates" (ops lead, 40-person agency).

Prepare the Slack integration launch from the roadmap page

Why: Notion, "Roadmap Q4": the Slack integration is marked "ships Nov 20". It is the most requested feature in your interview notes, and no launch content exists yet.

Example estimate: 15 to 30 extra trials in launch week

First deliverable, ready to paste

Launch kit, as a new Notion page under "Launches":
• Changelog post (draft attached)
• Email to the 212 trial users who never activated: "Your updates can now come from Slack"
• X thread (Kai) and LinkedIn post (Lina), scheduled for the 20th
• One-line update for the help center
Waiting for your approval before the page is created.

Connect Notion

About 5 minutes

Access to create an integration in your Notion workspace, and the pages you want Toby to use.

  1. 1

Open notion.so/profile/integrations and create a new internal integration. Copy its secret.

  2. 2

In Toby, open Integrations, then Notion → Connect, and paste the secret.

  3. 3

Back in Notion, open each page Toby may use, click ••• → Connections, and add your integration. Sub-pages are shared with their parent.

  4. 4

Tell Toby in #team which page should hold plans and reports (for example "Marketing").

  5. 5

Optional: choose which agents may use Notion (Toby and Iris by default).

Good to know

  • Only shared pages. If a page isn't connected to the integration, Toby can't see it, even if it's in the same workspace. That's Notion's own permission model.

  • Text, not files. Agents read the text blocks of a page. Images, PDFs and embedded files are not read.

  • New pages and added sections only. The connector does not edit or delete existing blocks, so your pages are never rewritten.

  • Toby's own documents stay in Toby. Your Brand Brain and recommendations live in the app; Notion receives copies of plans and reports, not a live sync.

Frequently asked questions

Can Toby see my whole Notion workspace?

No. An internal integration only sees the pages you explicitly connect to it (and their sub-pages). Everything else stays invisible, and you can remove access page by page at any time.

Will Toby change or delete my pages?

No. It can create new pages and add sections at the end of a page you shared. It has no action to edit or delete existing content, and each write waits for your approval unless you allowed it on Autopilot.

What does Autopilot change for Notion?

If you put an agent on Autopilot, it may create a page or append a section without asking, since this only adds content to your own workspace. You still see everything in the action log, and the global Pause button stops it.

Can Toby read a Notion database, like our interview notes?

Yes, when the database is shared with the integration: agents can find it, open its pages and read their content. Writing new rows into a database is not part of the ready-made connector today.

Is Notion required to use Toby?

Not at all. Plans, reports and the Brand Brain are all in Toby. Notion is useful when your team already lives there and you want the marketing work to show up in the same place.
